We have been busy this past month learning all about what animals do in the winter..... hibernate, migrate, and adapt. We made a hibernation poster,
And we made some name snowman for our January class bulletin board and shape penguins too!
For our study of polar animals, we acted out the story of The Mitten by Jan Brett,
We also played in our new Ice Fishing center where we caught fish, matched their size, hung them up on the rope, and recorded how many we caught. Next we played how many fish to feed the penguin and a letter match game.
We also learned about the science of melting and did an experiment to see if salt would make our ice melt faster. The colored water just made it more fun!
And we thoroughly enjoyed playing in the first snow of the season!
Winter is definitely here!
