February Fun!

Although it was a short month, we managed to pack in a whole lot of fun! The highlight of course was preparing for Valentine's Day. The kids were very excited to make Valentines for their families...

And since we decided to skip the card swap this year for safety reasons, we decorated special hearts and took turns sharing our "class valentines" by projecting them onto the smartboard! This provided an  opportunity to practice asking questions and making comments. They all had some nice compliments to give to one another as well!

We also enjoyed decorating and eating our Valentine's heart cookies!

Yum!

Winter

We have been learning about what some animals do in the winter; hibernation and migration.

We practiced making some hibernation and winter words with our letter tiles,

and used our eye spy eyes to circle letters in poems.

We also learned about polar animals and made some shape penguins for our bulletin board.

It was fun learning about the science of melting. We did an experiment to see if salt would make the ice melt faster. The colored water just made it a lot more fun!

And finally, what fun we had in the snow last week!
It was perfect snowman making snow!

HAPPY WINTER!!!
